Divided French Society/ Financial Troubles
There were 3 societys. The people of the church, nobels, and then everyone else. Everyone was taxes but the nobels and the people of the church so the French people became very poor. -
Louis XVI Calls the Estates- General
The tax collectors made the taxes so high that it would take a months salery to buy 1 loaft of bread. -
Stomring the Bastille
The people of France stormed Bastille for gun powder so they could fight the troops Louis XVI had sent. -
Constitution
The National Assembly wrote a Constitution for France. There was then a republic created which means there is no more king. So King Louis XVI is beheaded. -
War of Words
The French reloutionaries and the European moarchs moved onto the battlefield.The Legislative Assembly declared war first on Austria the Prussia, Britain, and other states. The fighting started in 1792 and ended in 1815. -
Rights of Men
The National Assembly ended their own privileges. The Declaration of the Rights of Men stated that all men were born equal. "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." -
Decleration of Pillnitz
Prussia and Austria issued the Decleration of Pillnitz. The boardering countries of France blocked them out. -
Women's March
6,000 women march 13 miles form Paris to Verlilles to try and get rights for themselves and not just have right for men. -
The Monarchy is Ablosshed
A crowd of Parisians broke into the royal palace and killed the king's guards. The royal family then flead to the Legislative Assembly befor the mob arrived. Some time later citizens attcked prisons that had nobels and priests accused of political offenses. And 1,200 prisoners were killed. -
Robespierre and the Reign of Terror
Robespierre had many people killed for no good reason. He is trying to chang everything. He is acting like he is god. So he is put on trial and exacuted. -
Third Stage of the Revolution
A constitution is made and is set up of 5 Directory and a two-house legislature elected by male citizens of property. -
Spread of Nationalism
The Revolution and war gave the French people a strong sense of national identity. The government rallied sons and daughters of the revolution to defend the nation itself.
