  • End of Civil War

    Against the north and the south and got rid of slavery.

  • Homestead Act

    In this year, Congress passed The Homestead Act, and this gave 160 free acres of land for 5 years.

  • Battle of Little Bighorn

    This treaty was supposed to bring peace, but gruges reamined and began fighting a few years later.

  • Transcontinental Railroad

    A railroad that connected to different ocean. Completed in 1869.

  • Boss Tweed jailed

    Tweed was arrested and given a 12-year sentence. His bail was 8 million dollars.

    Banishment of the Ghost Dance, which brought soldiers to fight the tribe who refaulted.

  • Ellis Island opens

    Over 12 million immigrants entered the United States through Ellis Island. Immigrants were mostly from northern and western European countries.

  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    They passed the first law to limit immagration in 1882.
