Lerning how to use EasyBib
-Students need to better use citations in all of their work. We have a new subscription to EasyBib for all stuents and staff to use throughout the year for all classes.
-All interested teachers in grades 5-12 will be taken through a step-by-step tutorial of all that EasyBib offers.
-This inservice time will last approximately a half hour.
-Teachers will meet in the LMC with their laptops. They will be able to follow along on their screens.
-Teachers do not need any previous experience. -

New Digital Storytelling ideas
-Ninth grade English students complete a digital story toward the end of first quarter. They usually use one of two programs, which may limit their creativity.
-This will take 3-5 nights after school from 3:45-4:15.
-I will meet with the 9th grade English teacher and the Special Ed teacher, who co-teaches. They will need their laptops.
-They know the requirements of their class so should be able to see what other programs fit. -
Jr Seminar Curriculum Support-final presentation ideas
-This is the beginning of the second year of our seminar program; the seminar teachers may want more ideas about what technology can be used for the cumulative final assessment.
-This will last for two days after school for two weeks, days to be determined.
-Teachers will need laptops and the list of possible resources shared to them via Drive.
-This workshop will be for junior seminar teachers.
-The teachers will know their presentation requirments so will be able to judge resources. -
Evaluating Web Pages for Middle Schoolers
Evaluating web sites-Students need to be reminded of how to effectively evaluate their sources when doing online research. This lesson will help them with evaluation.
-This will take one hour after school. Teachers will work through the lesson as if they are students.
-This will be held in the LMC. Teachers should bring their laptops.
-This will be available to all 6-8 grade teachers.
-No prerequisites needed. -
Academic Honesty and 5th Graders-Digital Passport
Digital Passport-5th grade students need to begin the shift in thinking from elementary school to middle school. More is expected of them when researching. This tutorial for teachers will help that.
-This will take one hour after school.
-Fifth grade teachers should bring their laptops to the LMC to run through the lesson as though they are students.
-No prerequisites are required.
