    A treaty in 1763 called the Treaty of Paris made a clear line between the two enemies.
  • The Beginning of the Tax Acts

    The Beginning of the Tax Acts
    In 1764 a new act was passed Parliament called the Sugar Act it lowered the price of molasses and other products. This and many other acts occurred such as the Stamp Act.
  • The End of the Tax Acts

    The End of the Tax Acts
    The last of the acts were placed, the Townshend Act. After many protests and repeals of acts parliament thought this would be the last. The colonists stated that they would not pay for any new acts. The Townshend Act placed taxes on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    After the ship of liberty was seized for smuggling a total of 4,000 troops of the British settled in Boston. The colonists took advantage of this on a night of March in 1770. They threw rock and snowballs at the soldiers telling them to get out of their colony. The soldiers replied with gunfire killing 5 people. Samuel Adams called it the Boston Massacre and it rocked the thinking of the colonists
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts
    The British closed colonist's ports and other ways to export making it impossible for people to export goods. The Coercive Act allowed the British to participate in trials where colonists have committed crimes. The colonists were horrified that the British did this and they called it the Intolerable Acts.
  • The ride, first gunshot of the war, and the battle of Lexington

    Paul Revere and others warned the colonists about the British. Colonists hid the guns in Lexington and provided a total of 10,000 colonists to help fight the British out of Lexington and Concord. The first gunshot is made and there is a boost in colonist's bravery.
  • Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Sam Prescotts ride

    At midnight the two men came to people's doors and warned the colonists that the British were coming for the weapons and guns in Lexington. If they had not done this the colonists would most likely not win the war.
