    Rome was a Repubnlic which meant that the citizens of Rome elected people to represent them in the government. The american government also does this. This most closeley relates to republicanism.

The social compact is when the citizens give up a few rights to the government for their rights being protected in return. Natural rights are the rights that everyone are given when they are born. Congress could wage war, make peace, sign treaties, make money, and make laws. States did not have to enforce laws if they did not want to. States had more power than congress.

    The Constitution was created at the Philidelphia convention. Such people as James Madison, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson attended this meeting. Two plans were debated here the Virginia plan favored by big states, and the Rhode Island plan favored by small states. Both plans were about representation in the Legislative branch. Compromised and took a little from both plans.
