This battle took place in Charlston County, South Carolina. This battle was the starting battle of the civil war. The union commander was Robert Anderson and for the confederate it was P.G.T. Beauregard. The confederates won. They killed two and wounded two and only one was wounded on their side.

Antietam

This battle was also known as the sharpsburg battle fought on September 17th, 1862. It was the bloodiest single day battle in the civil war. It happened near Sharpsburg Maryland. For the union 2,108 were killed, 9,540 were wounded, 753 were missing or captured. For the Confederecey 1,546 were killed, 7,752 were wounded, 1,018 were missing or captured.

Emancipation Proclomation

The Emancipation Proclomation was written by Abraham Lincoln on September 22nd 1862. It pretty much freed the slaves by the first of the year. And the States that seceded had to return to the union by the first of the year too.

The battle of Fredricksburg

Fought in Fredricksburg, Virginia between the union led by Ambrose E. Burnside, and the confederacey led by Robert E. Lee. The Union lost serverley losing 12,653 their people. The confederacey only lost 5,377 people

The battle of Gettysburg started on the 1st of july, 1863, in the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was the bloodiest battle of the civil war. It was a union victory after 3,155 union people were killed, 14,531 were wounded, and 5,369 were captured or missing. For the confederates, 4,708 were killed, 12,693 were wounded and 5,830 were captured or missing. The union was lead by George E. Mead, and the confederate was lead by Robert E. Lee.

Siege of Knoxville

Started on november 4th, 1863. Braxton Bragg ordered James Longstreet to Knoxville, tennessee to fight against Ambrose Burnside. Longstreet is the last of the people that complained to Jefferson about Bragg. This started the siege of knoxville and the battle of ft. sanders. The battle of ft. sanders was a union victory.

The battle of cold harbor started on the 31st of may, 1864. It was the last battle of Ullyses S. Grant. He also lost that battle. He lost this battle bad. The confederates only lost 2500 people. the union lost 13,000.

Shermans march to the sea

Shermans march to the sea was also known as the Savannah Campaign. The campaign started with Sherman's people leaving the captured city of Atlanta Georgia on November 15. And ended with the capture of the port of Savannah on December 21.

appomattox courthouse

The appomattox courthouse was built in 1846 along a railroad. This location was special because this was where Lee surrendered to Grant and the civil war was ending.
