School Development Team
WUSD commences a school development team to design a school of choice to open in 2014-2015. -
School of Choice Vision
WUSD and School Development Team decide to develop the school of choice as a dependent charter school with a project based learning focus and encompassing the district's independent study/virtual program. The school will open with a K-4 configuration, rolling up a grade level a year and eventually building out to a comprehensive K-12 program. -

Kindergartners enrolled in the virtual academy have the option of attending two days a week for enrichment at the brick and mortar campus. -

Blended learning, flipped classrooms, 1:1 technology, and daily application of the Four Cs - collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication, are the norm in our 21st century learning environment. Students find solutions to real world challenges through interdisciplinary, hands-on projects in partnership with the industry in our local community.
