In this story, God advances his mission in testing Isaac's faith and declaring that he will bless Abraham so that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore.
This reflects his glory, as Abraham and God's relationship is strengthened, and Abraham knows that God loves him, and will fulfill his promises. God's glory is never challenged. https://biblehub.com/timeline/

Jacob Typology Part 1 (1928 BCE)
In Genesis 27:42-45, Rebekah was told that Esau wanted to kill Jacob because he stole his blessing. Hence, she told Jacob to run away, to Laban in Harran. This typology connects to the NT. In Matthew 2:13, God told Joseph to take the child and mother and flee from Egypt. Both stories have a warning to flee.

Jacob Typology Part 2 (28)
In Luke 21:12-24, it talks about how Jerusalem will fall, and everyone will be afraid, and those days would be dreadful, but as long as people stand firm, they will win in life. This connects to the OT passage Genesis 39-45, where Joseph is put into prison, but he stands firm, and won in life, the point where his brothers relied on him for food. Both passages have the idea of a negative, but as long as...

Hong Kong - Personal Reflection - 2016
In 2016, I broke my leg, so I was not able to go on the cruise trip 2 days later. But I prayed to God, asking for help. Turns out, the morning after the surgery, I was able to leave the hospital. This was honoring because if I was 30 minutes late, my whole family would have missed the ship. Romans 8:39 impacted me, as it told me during the time I broke my leg that no matter what happens, God is with me, and nothing will separate the love of God that is in and with us. God loves us and everyone. -
How can we see God's covenant with Abraham being fulfilled today? (2019)
God promised Abraham multiple times that he would become a great nation. In today's world, we can see God's covenant being fulfilled, as the population growth has been exponentially growing for the past 30 years. We can see that Abraham's descendants, including me has become a great nation, part of the world. In 2019, we still haven't reached under 1% growth, instead, we are still sitting at 1.09% growth rate. http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/
