Joseph Typology Part 1 (1898 BCE)
Jacob really loved Joseph. He loved him so much to the fact that he loved him more than his other sons. This OT passage is Genesis 37:3a and it says "Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children". It connects with the NT passage of Matthew 3:17 because it is both stating how much love the father has for the son.

Joseph Typology Part 2 (26AD
When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. A light shined upon him and a voice from heaven said,"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". This connects to the OT passage of Genesis 37:3 because both are saying the beloved of his father. It is saying how much the father loves the son and is pleased with him. Jacob gets Joseph a new robe and loves him more than all his sons while for Jesus, God opened from heaven declaring that his beloved son is here and he is pleased with him -

Personal Reflection
Bible Verse: Genesis 21
When Isaac was born, Abraham circumcised Isaac when he was 8 days old. When I was born in Baptist Hospital in Kowloon Tong I was circumcised at a young age and I know this because my parents told me. This impacted me because by doing this even though I was a baby and didn't have a choice, that my family religion was Christianity and it shows that I'm cleansing my body of all the bad stuff and have good hygiene and health. -

How can we see God's covenant with Abraham being fufilled today?
We see God's covenant with Abraham being fulfilled today in Israel because in Genesis 17:3-6 it says, "No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations". This says that his descendants would grow into a big nation and we see it today as Christianity is the largest religion in the world with over 2.4 billion people practicing it whether that is Lutheran, Protestantism, Catholic, or East Orthodox.
