Intel releases supply of 1GHz chip
In March Intel decided to release their first 1Ghz Pentium 3 chip, just three days after AMD decided to release a similar chip. This chip was at the time the fastest of its kind, and this being available to the public progressed us forward in computing tremendously. -
Blender becomes open-source!
In September Blender, a 3D graphics software became open-source, after finally raising 100,000 Euros. This gave people all over the world the opportunity to be able to help the cutting edge of 3D processing. -
AMD releases the first widely available 64-bit processor.
In September of 2003 AMD was able to release the first widely available 64-bit processor to the consumer market. Once again this was displaying to people that we were advancing very quickly in computer tech. This gave people a much faster processor to work with, and changed how people work forever. -
Nvidia releases the newest most powerful card.
Nvidia put the GeForce 6800 to the market. This was the biggest improvement ever made in graphic processing yet. There was over a 100% increase in productivity, and it changed the way we were able to render everyday things. -
Apple released the first IPhone
Something that even today is possibly considered the most influential events in technology history, the release of the first iPhone. Once again this showcased how scary fast we were moving in the technology world. This amazed everyone all over the world and changed how we think of computers to this day.
