Some kids were mocking soldiers as the crowd gathered. A shot was fired on accident and the other soldiers started firing while the civilians threw shells, ice, and rocks at them. -

A rebellion in which the Colonist poured tea into the waters to rebel against the tea tax -

Soldiers got to live in colonist homes and could treat them like maids -

They extended Canada's territory all the way south to the Ohio River Valley trapping the colonists in -

Four main things- Closed Boston Harbor, appointed military governors, quartering, and British officials had to be tried in another colony -
General Thomas Gage takes over Boston
They sent many soldiers and the General to show Boston that they need to behave -
First Continental Congress
12 leaders out of 13 gathered together to create a political body. (Georgia was unable due to being so far down south.) -
Paul Revere's Ride
He and two other friends alerted the Colonist that the British are coming to find their weapons -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
AKA shot heard around the world, 70 minutemen were against 700 redcoats, an unknown shot was fired and both started firing. The Redcoats realizing that they didn't find weapons started again to a farm. (Didn't find any) at the north bridge, the colonists snuck up on them and drove them back to Boston. Considered a colonist victory bc 1/3 of the redcoats were injured/lost and only 18 colonists were injured. -
Fort Ticonderoga
Had tons of military supplies and two people - on the same night - tried to seize the fort. Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen were the two but Arnold wasn't remembered leading him to become the first turncoat (traitor) in American history -

Battle of Bunker Hill
The militia set up posts on Bunker and Breed's hill the previous day to the British attack. The British had three waves, two which failed and the third they took over Breed's hill bc the others were running out of gunpowder. In the end, we had to retreat but still considered the British victory although 1000 died from their side, only 90 were lost from our side -
Olive Branch Petition
A final chance at avoiding war stating that colonist would act well if they respected their rights. It was rejected and both sides prepared for war -
Washington takes over Boston
Took 60 cannons to overview Boston and the plan was to shoot down. They took these cannons over 300 miles to Boston thur the snow taking about 5 months. -
Hessian Soldiers are hired by King George III
Hessian soldiers were mercenaries from Germany and loved to fight. Almost each of their uniform was used to fight. The King hired more than 30,000 of these men to fight the colonists. -
