    Industrial Revolution

This event contributed to the development of Classical Liberalism because it came with change in class structure. To optimize the amount of economic gains promised, members of parliament put ideas of Classical Liberalism into practice. They minimized the governments control over the economy as much as possible, believing that the principle of Economic Freedom, Self Interest, and Competition would work in favor of the economy. This led to many challenges and an evolution of Liberalism.
  • Period: to

    Changes to Class System

This event contributed to the development of Classical Liberalism because people were no longer being born into a certain social and economic class without any hope of changing their fate. For once each person was valued as unique and encouraged to pursue more economic opportunities. Though the ideas of 'social class' began to die away, a class structure based on wealth began to emerge, this promoted Individual Rights & Freedoms, Economic Freedom, Self Interest, and Competition.
  • Period: to

    Changes to Class System

Before the revolutions peoples lives were governed by the church and it was believed that certain people were 'chosen' by a higher power to rule. It was a time where people were born into rich or poor families and had no chance of changing that destiny. After the revolutions people had opportunities to vote for change and also change their economic status, regardless of the family they were born into.
