    During this time the project was announced officially as Blu-Ray Disc. The first consumer device arrived in stores on April 10th, 2003. These covers on the Blu-rays usually have a different texture of paper that is apart from DVD cases. The good part is Blu-ray discs have a harder coating that protects the data.
