E-Bay started by Pierre Omidyar, and Amazon launched by Jeff Bezos, started gaining popularity in 1995. E-Commerce gave a lot of power to the user of a computer to purchase and buy virtually anything with the click of a button and maybe a 16 digit code and the 3 numbers on the back. -
NFC Technology grows roots
Near Field Communication is a short wave communication between two wireless devices. NFC technology is what we use today for Apple pay, Google wallet ect. The first iteration was only used for star wars toys to communicate with each other, however it has come a long way since then and is used in many devices that we use everyday. -
Flash Drive Created
The date when the USB drive was created is debated. Pua Khein Seng is a Malaysian engineer is credited with creating the pen drive in 1999 but did not release his product until 2001. Around the same time IBM released their own drive in 2000. The original Flash drives from IBM only held between 8mb and 32mb of storage. This invention made files more readily mobile and has come a long way since the 90s.
