Apple launches the MAC
The Macintosh was the first successful mouse driven computer and had the Motorola 68 microprocessor. It sold for a whopping $2500. MacPaint and MacWrite were applications included in the package. -
C++ Programming Language
C++ programming language is created by Bjarne Stroustrup working at AT&T. According to Stroustrup: "C++ is a general purpose programming language designed to make programming more enjoyable for the serious programmer.” -
IBM Personal System 2 (PS2)
The IBM PS2 used Intel´s 80386 chip and sells more than one million units in the first year. IBM's new operating system, OS/2,ws introduced in the PS2. The PS/2 utilized the 3.5-inch floppy disk drive and video graphics array (VGA) which became standard for IBM computers.
