    On this day marked a milestone for computers as it was the first personal computer to be used and available to the public. It only had 64 KB of RAM and was sold for $3000. It was developed by Don Estridge in Florida.

    This is not the first gaming console but this still made a big stride in the gaming community with games such as Mario Bros. and Pac-Man coming out with the console. This console did not have a pretty start when it came into consumers hands as there were numerous things wrong with it, it took Atari a year to reissue a modified version that fixed a lot of the problems that people had.

    The Apple Macintosh was created which dated the first successful home computer. It outranked it's predecessor, the IBM computer, and had over 128 KB of RAM, this is a crazy low number given that most computers now use a minimum of 1 GB just to operate Windows.

    At a tech convention in 1985, the Compact Disk read-only memory was displayed. It marked the first disk that you can store binary memory which was originally just used to save music. It was used to transfer games and other software onto other computers.
