  • VIC-20

    In 1980 the Commodore introduces the VIC-20. Invented by Bob Yannes. It was the first computer to sell more than a million units. It helped the education system.
  • DN100

    In 1981 they (Mike Sporer, Berrie Stumpf, Russ Barbour, Paul Leach, and Andy Marcuvitz) created the DN100. It was the first work station. Also having a high resolution display and built in networking. It enhanced graphics common in engineering and scientific applications.
  • IBM 7535

    In 1982 the IBM 7535 was created. It was controlled by a PC. It was a versatile tool for manufactures. It made it easier for engineers to create application programs.
  • Microsoft Introduces Word

    In 1983 Microsoft Word was invented. Developed by Charles Simonyi and Richard Brodie. It is a word processing program. It has helped create simple word processing documents. Allowing to write in various fonts, sizes, and different formatting.
  • IBM 3480 Cartridge Tape System

    In 1984 the IBM 3480 Cartridge Tape System was created. It replaced the traditional reels of magnetic tape. It held more information and faster access.
