    MIT LINC
    The MIT LINC was an early version of a personal computer. It was developed at MIT by Charles Molnar and Wesley Clark. The software was designed by Mary Allen Wilkes. It would eventually lead us to the laptops of today.
  • Sabre Goes National

    Sabre started as a joint venture between American Airlines and IBM to develop a reservation system. The company is still around and is the basis for travel reservations as we know them today.
  • Programma 101

    Programma 101
    The Olivetti Programma 101 hits the public market. Created by Italian company Olivetti, it was a programable and printable calculator. NASA bought ten to use on for the Apollo Program. It was also used to teach people early coding.
  • The Mother of All Demos

    The Mother of All Demos
    Douglas Engelbart wowed crowds at the ACM/IEEE Computer Society's Fall Joint Computer Conference. In 90 minutes, he showed everyone: graphics, hypertexts, video conferencing, and so much more. He demonstrated a lot of the concepts/programs that we take for granted with modern computers.

    ARPAnet comes online. This is a large-scale computing network that links various types of general-purpose computers together. This was created by the Advance Research Projects Agency of the US Department of Defense. This would lead to the global connectivity we have today.
