  • A-o

    A-o
A-o has introduced our way of communicating with technology. This program was completed by Grace Hopper for us to give a computer a set of instructions with English-like words. Before this digits were given to the computer in order to give a set of instructions. This changed how we communicate with computers today.
  • IBM 650

    IBM 650
This was our first mass-produced computer release. This computer allowed us to view stored information at much faster rates. This product was created by IBM and this computer became extremely popular in universities which have shaped how technology was incorporated into our education.
  • First Scanned Image

    First Scanned Image
Russell Kirsch and his team from SEAC were able to capture the image of Kirsch's son by scanning and having it go on the computer. This image was small and black and white but it did put our foot in the door for being able to scan things to our computer.
  • DEC PDP-1

    DEC PDP-1
This computer had a cathode ray tube graphic card, input/output, and paper tape. This computer also required no air condition to use it. This computer shaped how we use computers today because it only required one operator which is standard to our everyday lives in the present. This computer was created by Digitial Equipment Corporation.
