Fashion included hour glass shaped dresses, white gloves, classic sattle shoes, knee length skirts and button ups, classic white pearls, and corsets. -

Childrens fashion was usually picked from their parents, so they certainally had a touch of their parents inpiration and fashion sense. Girls and boys often wore button ups and plaid. GIrls always wore skirts of dresses, and boys wore slacks and suspenders. -

Men fashion in the 1950s was surely an inspiration many men still wear today. They often wore suits and ties to work, depending on the job, dress shirts and slacks, button ups, suspenders and phedoras. -
1952 Election
The 1952 election was in the top ten of most recent presidental elections in which women were allowed to vote. Many women took this oppurtunuity to show that they were just as powerful as men. They did this by wearing brightly colored clothes to show that they were strong and showed an opinion. They even wore shoulder pads and bigger sized t-shirts to show emphasis. -

The Polio vaccine was certainally a break through in science, but a huge blessing to the younger ages in this time period. Polio was a more common disease to kids, and when the Polio vaccine was created, thousands of childrens lives were saved. This changed the way adults and children looked at life, and even their wordrobe, After this, people realized that life is short, and they need to enoy it. 1955, in Montgomery Alabama, Rosa Parks stood up for something that she believed in, which was not gibing up her seat for a white man. She was sent to jail, but kater that night bailed out. She is a huge inspiration to many people and shows that no matter who you are you can make a stand. This realy affected the way people dressed because they wanted to show how powerful they were -
Alaska Becomes 49th State in United States
Alaska becoming a state was a huge deal during the 50's, America was expanding, as well as new types of fashion. Blazers were a huge hit in '55, and they have certainly made their mark in fashion. Hawaii Becomes 50th State in United States
Just like when Alaksa became a 49th state, Hawaii becomnig the 50th state was a huge deal! It still is the newest state to join America and has made a huge imprint on society. When Hawaii joined the Union, some popular fashion trends included floral and pleaded styles.
