Childrens fashion was usually picked from their parents, so they certainally had a touch of their parents inpiration and fashion sense. Girls and boys often wore button ups and plaid. GIrls always wore skirts of dresses, and boys wore slacks and suspenders. -

1952 Election
The 1952 election was in the top ten of most recent presidental elections in which women were allowed to vote. Many women took this oppurtunuity to show that they were just as powerful as men. They did this by wearing brightly colored clothes to show that they were strong and showed an opinion. They even wore shoulder pads and bigger sized t-shirts to show emphasis. -

1955, in Montgomery Alabama, Rosa Parks stood up for something that she believed in, which was not gibing up her seat for a white man. She was sent to jail, but kater that night bailed out. She is a huge inspiration to many people and shows that no matter who you are you can make a stand. This realy affected the way people dressed because they wanted to show how powerful they were -

Alaska becoming a state was a huge deal during the 50's, America was expanding, as well as new types of fashion. Blazers were a huge hit in '55, and they have certainly made their mark in fashion.
