German invasion of France
From May 10th 1940 to June 25th of the same year, the Nazis attacked France and eventually annexed it. This was extremely bad for the Allies as the axis powers now controlled a very valuable allied nation. The fall of France was also a troubling thing for the allies because Hitler's army seemed unstoppable. -
D Day
On June 6th 1944 the second world war changed course in favor of the Allies. During D Day many Allied nations rushed the beaches of Normandy under heavy German machine gun fire, in order to take back France, they were successful. -

When Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed, The Japanese were forced to surrender and end world war 2. This is important because this brought an end to the world's deadliest conflict and it's the first time nuclear weapons were ever used in combat. -
