    John T. Scopes was put on trial for teaching about Darwin's Theory of Evolution, which violated the Butler act. The case was thrown out, but it was the first time fundamentalist Biblical teachings went head to head with individualist values.
  • Flight of Lindbergh

    Charles Lindbergh completed the first solo-man flight across the Atlantic in a single trip. The trip took 33 hours in humanities faith in technology having the ability to be used for good was restored.
  • Black Tuesday

    This day marked one of the beginning steps of the Great Depression with the stock market crashing harder than it had been recently. People saw the market crashing, and out of fear, people sold, which in turn, made the market continue to decline.

    In Roosevelt's acceptance speech, he promised a New Deal to assist with getting out of the Great Depression, and this thought of a New Deal made him very popular.

    One of the most infamous moments of WWII was when Japan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack killed thousands of Americans, and destroyed several ships, but ultimately this pushed America into the war and led to the atomic bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
