    Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested for armed robbery and murder.
    Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were anarchists who immigrated from Italy. On April 10th they robbed a paymaster Alessandro Berardelli and his guard. They robbed them for 15000 and murdered them. There was little evidence of their crime and they never found the money. There were many protests for their release because of this and since people thought the prosecution was tough on them. They were executed on August 23rd by electric chair.

    KDKA was the first commercial radio station to go on air on November 2 1920 with a broadcast of the Harding-Cox presidential election. This was big because this was the first time Americans could hear the result of the election without having to wait for it to come out in the paper.

    This pageant began as an inner city beauty contest 9 different girls from nine different cities were selected based on a popularity contest. In this inner-city beauty contest, the girls were judged on personality and appearance. It proved to be so popular a bathing suit contest was also held. 16-year-old Margaret Gorman won first place she received the prize for the contest and a golden mermaid trophy for “being the most beautiful girl in America”.

It was basically a major scandal involving oil in Wyoming that President Harding illegally gave away, without informing the American people when they learned this it became a huge scandal because Harding was so well-liked.

    The Jazz Singer by Warner Bros debuted in 1927 it was the first full-length feature film with synchronized audio. After it debuted it was a major success this film ended the era and started the era of “talkies”.

    The first Winter Olympics occurred in Chamonix, France in the French Alps. It was originally called the International Winter Sports Week, but it was later changed to be known as the First Winter Olympics. There were 16 different countries with around 250 athletes and 16 different events.

    The Great Gatsby was published by F. Scott Fitzgerald on April 10 1925 it was his third novel. It is a novel about a tragic love story set in the 20s in New York. This book actually wasn't popular when it first came out, but it would later be nicknamed the Great American novel.

    The Scopes Monkey trial begun in Tennessee when teacher John Scopes was accused of teaching his students about evolution which was illegal due to Tennessee state law that says, it is illegal to “teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as taught in the Bible".After a major lawyer of the time William Bryan agrees to join the prosecution, causes Clarence Darrow to join the defense. The trial took place July 10-21st. It would become most of the most famous trials.

    The St. Valentine's Day Massacre occurred on February 14th, 1929 on the north side of Chicago, it was a gang war. Al Capone is thought to be responsible though not officially tied, he had his men dress up as police officers and gun down and shoot 7 of Bugs Morgan's gang members.

    Charles Lindberg takes off from Roosevelt Field in New York to attempt to complete the first solo non-stop transatlantic flight in his single-engine monoplane. 33 hours and 3600 miles later he landed in Le Bourget field in Paris completing the first ever non-stop transatlantic flight.

    Stock prices were declining in September and early October. Then on October 24th, the market went into freefall around 13 million shares were sold. The real crash of the stock market is known as black Tuesday on October 29th 16 million in shares were traded. The crash of this stock market would lead to the great depression.
