    19th amendment ratified
    This amendment gave all women in the U.S. the right to vote. Before this amendment, only men could vote. Women formed groups, went on strikes and fought for their right to vote.

    Eight Chicago White Sox players were accused of losing the World Series on purpose. The players were gambling for money. They went to trail and were found guilty.

    Sacco-Vanzetti Trial
    Sacco and Vanzetti were two Italian-born men. They were accused of murdering a man in South Braintree, Massachusetts. They were found guilty and put to death in 1927.

    President Harding gives the Sec. of interior to Albert Bacon Fall. Mr. Fall was secretly selling oil that was reserved for the navy, to an oil company. He was found guilty and sent to jail.

    Yankee Stadium was built so that the New York Yankees had a new field to play on. The stadium was nicknamed "The house that Babe Ruth built". It was one of the most popular stadiums ever built in baseball history.

    30,000 KKK members gathered to march through the nations capital, Washington D.C. They booked 18 trains, booked hotel rooms and reserved their own ambulances. They marched for 3 hours and stopped at the Washington Monument for speeches.

    In 1927, Babe Ruth hit his 60th homerun of the season. The Yankees were playing the Washington Senators at Yankees Stadium. This record would stand for 34 years.
