The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters
This was a union led by A. Philip Randolph, who was an activist for civil rights. This union represented a workforce that was nearly all black; the BSCP managed to increase wages and shorten working hours over time. This affected the societies view on labor for African Americans. -
The Harlem Renaissance
After WW1, many African Americans migrated north. This created a new generation of African American culture, such as music, art, and literature. This movement was for African American to demonstrate to white people the richness of their culture and to prove that they deserved respect. This movement affected to social standards of this decade. -
