    Japan began its invasion of China on July 7th, 1937. The Nanjing Massacre took place on December 13th, 1937 and was the liquidation of the city Nanjing and the mass murder and violation of its Chinese citizens. It was six weeks long. This truly ignited the Second Sino-Japanese War which played a huge part in WWII.

It was a pogrom and a series of riots against the Jewish citizens of Germany, executed by the Nazi Sturmabteilung military forces alongside antisemtic citizens. German authorities did not intervene.     On December 7th, 1941 an attack on the United States Naval Base in Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii took place. It was a surprised bombing executed by the Japanese Navy Air Service and was the catalyst in motivating the United States to join World War II.

    On August 6th and 9th, 1945 the United States detonated two atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These bombings decimated both respective cities and killed between 129,000 - 226,000 citizens of Japan, almost all of them civilians. These bombings remain the only use of nuclear weapons in armed conflict of war.

They were sentenced for crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. The most notable of these trials were the Major War Criminal Trials, in which many powerful Nazi leaders were sentenced to death or convicted.
