    They were a group that wanted woman's rights and prohibition.
  • Anti-Saloon League is formed

    The Anti-Saloon League was formed in 1893 in Oberlin, Ohio. They believed in prohibition. They also believed that the only way to have an effect was to have an Amendment added to the constitution. they would team up with many different goops, and churches that agreed with them the main one being the temperance movement.

    The 18th Amendment passes both the house of representatives and the senate and moves on to the states.

    the 18th Amendment was passed after the needed three-fourths of all states passed the amendment on January 1919.

    After the 18th amendment was passed there was a rapid rise in organized crime and bootlegging. Many organized crime groups got their start during this time because they could make a lot of money bootlegging.
