Railroads made a Time zones
Before the trains people set their clocks to their perspective of the sun. When they made the railroads go across America people had trouble trying to keep up with the time different´s in other areas, so in order to fix the confusion the railroad companies made a standard time zone so others would not get confused. The Gov later adopted this time zone. -
Ellis Island opens as a receiving center for immigrants
Immigrants flocked into the US mainly New York,Chicago, and other big popular areas in the US.
Native born citizens of the US wanted less immigrants while the big bosses and politicians wanted to try and let them vote in the states.
