During World War 1 the Germany put the United States under submarine warfare. The ship was torpeaded by a German U-boat. The ship sank in 18 minutes. -

The United States stayed neutral at the beginning until we had to enter the war. Several ships were sank including the Lusitania. This made the U.S enter the war. -

19th Amendment Ratified
This took decades to pass the 19th amendment but they finally did. The 19th amendment is giving all American Women the right to vote.
