    Deletion of side vent windows, divided tail lights, 396 v8 350hp (6.5) option for SS/Z28. 7199 were sold. Multi-rear leaf springs

    All new sheet metal,”V” grille with deeper head lights (only year offered) possibly armed with the corvettes l-72 big block 425hp(7.0)(zl1)-(550hp) only 69 sold(due to high motor price $4,000)YENKO was introduced.

    New v8 360hp (5.7) RS “rally sport” SS”super sport” and z28 packages were available. 454(7.4)(ls-6 and ls-7) were listed but never made it to production.

    1100 cars scrapped due to not meeting safety standards, would go on to produce 68,656 cars and 970 ss396 were sold in 1972. Also the last year the SS model was offered

    New LT series was offered, impact absorbent bumpers were standard, big block and SS models wee dropped, power was down due to emission standards, Top rated 350 (5.7) 245hp.
