    Transcontinental Railroad
    In the beginning there wasnt many railroad. There was about 25,000 miles in 1865. Although in 1900 there was over 200,000 miles. This allowed people and shipments to travel quicker and more efficiently.
  • Theodore Roosevelt

    Theodore Roosevelt
    In 1901 Roosevelt has now taken office and was president with the ideas to help rebuild American society. He came with multiple progressive ideas
  • Antitrust Act

    Antitrust Act
    This act was when Theodore was now in office and fought against JP Morgan railroad. They were planning to merge together the railroads which means the price to ship will increase. Theodore helped the farmers and business owners to not have to pay so much money.
  • Great Migration

    Great Migration
    This was when a major amount of African Americans got up and left. They moved to the urban north from the rural south.
  • Seventeenth Amendment

    This was a big deal. This amendment allowed the citizens to have a say of who gets a seat in congress. Now the government wasn't only in control.
  • Sixteenth Amendment

    Sixteenth Amendment
    The amendment was ratified in 1913. It was the rise for congress impose federal income tax.
  • Oil Strike

    This was when the labor unions workers all fought for better working conditions and more money.
  • World war 1

    The biggest war between Germany, Russia, Austria, Serbia. The United States then entered a few years later

    This movement was a parade. Women protested against the right to vote and have equality
  • Eighteenth Amendment

    Eighteenth  Amendment
    This amendment was created and banned the sale or making of intoxicating liquids. This was also known as the Temperance movement. This made people upset because they relied on Alcohol. There was multiple protests against it.
