  • Declaration of Independence- Political

    The day the Continental Congress voted for independence.
  • The Constitution- Social

    Document established by the Government in Philedelphia, Pennsylvania, which defines certain rights given to people.
  • Estates-General Meeting- Social

    A legislative assembly of the 3 classes of France which paved the way for the French Revolution.
  • Bastille Stormed- Political

    Revolting members of the third estate raid the Bastille in Paris. Many are murdered and guns are taken.
  • End of the Old Regime- Political

    Social equality is established. The three estates are essentially "abolished".
  • Olympe de Gouges- Social

    Olympe de Gouges writes the Declaration of the Rights of Women and Female Citizen, challenging women inferiority.
  • Bill of Rights- Social

    The first 10 amendments are established in the colonies.
  • France Declares War Against Austria/Prussia- Diplomatic

  • Napoleon Invades Russia- Diplomatic

    Napoleon's army crosses the Neman River in an attempt to defeat the Russian military.
  • Missouri Compromise of 1820- Cultural
