    Proclamation of 1763
After Britain granted a great deal of valuable North American land from the victory of the French and Indian War, King George III prohibited colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountain range intended to prevent further conflicts between settlers and Native Americans. However, although this is true, his main goal was actually to diverge the people who had helped or opposed him during the "Seven Years War."

The first tax on the American colonies imposed by the British Parliament was the Sugar Act. The Sugar Act's main purpose was to lower the tax on molasses so that less people would smuggle it from Spanish colonies.

The Sons of Liberty was an underground organization that was created in the Thirteen American Colonies. The secret society was extremely crucial to the colonists and was founded in Boston by Samuel Adams and John Hancock which were also people who played a really big role in the American Revolutionary War. The main goal for the Sons of Liberty was to protect the rights of the colonists and to fight taxation by the British government.
  • The Stamp Act

The new tax passed by the British Parliament was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used which was a prodigious amount of money back then. The Stamp Act was a major cause of why the American Revolutionary War occurred as colonies protested that the British were taxing them without representation.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act

The Boston Port Act was to punish what the colonists did by shutting down Boston Harbor which is a place where a lot of people depend for their lives as the residents must pay back nearly a million worth of money in ( today’s society ) for dumping all those tea until the Boston Harbor reopens.
  • Coercive Acts

Coercive Acts also called the Intolerable Acts were used to describe a series of laws which four of the acts were issued by the British Parliament in direct response to the Boston Tea Party where the British took it extremely seriously. The 5 Coercive Acts were the Boston Port Act, Administration of Justice Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Quartering Act of 1774 and the Quebec Act.
