Cyber High School Opens
Cyber High School opened its doors for the first time to students on this date. Four teachers, one administrator, one office assistant, and about thirty-five students walked through the front doors that first day. Hours of operation were 7:00 a.m. to 6:10 p.m. -
$10,000 Grant from Qwest and AZtea
Mark Greenberg, our one and only English teacher, wins a $10,000 Digital Classroom Leader grant from Qwest Communications and the Arizona Technology in Education Alliance. The money funds the Lupine Project which teaches students to develop educational video games. -
First Graduation
Cyber High holds its first ceremony for graduating seniors. -
Marc Prensky Visit
World-famous author and speaker Marc Prensky visits Cyber High School and addresses the students. -
Student Government Established
Mr. Patrick Smith, our one and only Social Studies teacher, forms our first Student Government. -
House of Reps Visit
Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Arizona State Legislature, Jim Weiers, visits Cyber High, gives a speech, and meets the students and staff. -
Robot Comes Alive
Cyber Highs enters a robot, created by Mr. Moody (our one and only science teacher) and his robotics club, into the regional robotics competition at Arizona State University. -
Mascot Officially Chosen
Accepting the recommendation of the Cyber High School Student Government, the Phoenix Union High School District officially named our mascot to be the griffin, a half-lion and half-eagle mythical creature. -
MEC Conference
At the Microcomputers in Education Conference at ASU, Mark Greenberg presents about video game making in class. Several members of the faculty and administration of Cyber High attend. -
