1618 The start of 30 years of war
This war started because the ruler of the Holy Roman Emperor tried to make everyone become a roman catholic whether they wanted it or not. He wanted everyone in his domain to be roman catholic so he tried to do that by force which started the war. -
1642 The start of the Civil War
This war a war fought in England and Scotland between the parliamentarians and royalists. It was fought over the governance and about religious freedom issues. -
1648 The end of the 30 year War
After fighting for 30 years it finally came to an end when they treaty of Westphalia. The war was very long and had eight million casualties because of it. This treaty was said to be the first modern treaty because it established strategic and territorial gains. -
1651 End of the English Civil War
The war ended with parliamentarian victory at the Battle of Worcester. Unlike other English civil wars this was fought over how the three kingdoms of England, Scotland, and Ireland would be governed. -
1660 Charles the second
This year marked the return of Charles the second as king. Along with this all of the bishops were restored to parliament, which established a strict Anglican orthodoxy.
