    Christopher Columbus discovers is a Spanish explorer. He came across the New World while he was looking for another trade route to India.

    John White Founded Roanoke Island in 1587
    John White founded the colony of Roanoke in 1587. The colony of Roanoke is located of the coast of North Carolina on an island. Soon after White formed Roanoke, White left for England to get supplies. White expected to by back in Roanoke within 3 months, but England was at war with Spain. White was stuck in England until 1590. When he was able to return to Roanoke, it was deserted.We still do not know where the colonist went.

    John Smith is an English settler. He was sent to help settle Virginia. The local Native American tribe, the Powhatan tribe, was suspicious of the new English settlers. A war broke out and the Powhatan tribe captured and held Captain John Smith hostage. He was to be executed that week. Luckily, the day of the execution, Pocahontas, Chief Powhatan's daughter, saved his life.

    The Salem Witch Trials were a series of trails and executions of men and women alike. These poor men and women were accused of witchcraft and put on trail. Over 200 men and women were executed. 20 of these executions were carried out in public to warn the men and woman that are committing "witchcraft" to go away. They also smashed an old man between rocks for committing witchcraft and refusing to stand trail for it.
