North America Settlement
North America was settled by the English. Settlement was successful with the London Company. The first colony established by Pymouth Company. -

Thomas Hooker founded the Connecticut Colony at Hartford. He also founded other colonies. -

Captain John Mason and John Wheelwright founded the New Hampshire Colony. They also founded other colonies. -
New York Colony
The Duke of New York was given New Netherland by the English. The British won New Amsterdam and renamed it as New York. -

The 13 colonies had about 250,000 settlers who were European and African. -
Carolinas
The Carolinas were the first of the Southern Colonies to be the lead colony. It was sold back to the King but eventually seperated. -
The final colony
James Oglethorpe was given Georgia. This was the last of the 13 colonies to be founded. -

England and France fought for control North America in a war known as the French and Indian War.
