Polyphemus
The men were stuck with a giant cyclopse. His name was Polyphemus, Odysseus was smart with his plan, but very arrogant once the plan worked. The plan was to Get Poly. drunk, tell him a fake name, make him sleep, jab his eye, and escape on the bellies of sheep. Flawless. UNTIL Odysseus got a big head and told him his name. Fail. -
Circe=Piggies!
The men meet Circe, who is a temptress. She turns some of the men into pigs. -
The Sirens
The Sirens are man eating bird women. They sing beautiful songs that cause the ships to crash on rocks, and to be never found again. Odysseus tells the men to put wax in their ears so they dont hear the songs, but he asks to be tied to the mast and not to be let free until the sirens are no longer tempting him. He wanted to hear their song. -
Scylla and Charybdis
Scylla is a serpant kind of creature with 12 legs, six heads, and three rows of fangs. Scary. She eats six of odysseus' men. Charybdis is a whirlpool that sucks in ships and then pukes them out. Gross. No one ever survives. -
Homecomming!
Odysseus had been MIA for 20 years. Penelope (Ody's wifey) was fixing to remarry, Odysseus comes home but Athena had changed him into a handsome man, Penelope didnt believe it was really him, so she hosts a contest where the suitors have to string Odysseus' bow and shoot an arrow threw some tiny rings. Of course odysseus is the only one that can. She STILL doesnt believe it's him so she makes him mad enough he tells about the bed he made out of the tree he built the house around.
