I was born on Dec. 30, 1988 and grew up in Birch Hills, SK for my entire childhood. -
My sister was born
My sister Nicole was born. -
Began School!
I started Kindergarten and I absolutely loved it! -
Grade 1
I was lucky enough to get Mrs. Turgeon for grade 1 and this is when I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up! -
Grade 5
I was lucky enough to have Mrs. Turgeon again for my grade 5 teacher. She was by far the best teacher I had! -
Karate
I joined karate and I continued on for five years, obtaining my purple belt. -
I vowed I would never become a teacher
In grade 11 we had to do career portfolios, and I vowed I would never become a teacher. I had many other options that I was much more interested in going to school for, for my future career. -
Car Accident
When I was in grade 10, there were 2 sisters on their way into school from their farm. An anhydrous truck ran a yield sign, and collided into them. Both girls died at the scene. Jenn was in grade 11 and Angela was in grade 9. This shook our school, and community as we are a very small and tight knit town. -
Europe
When I was in grade 11, I joined my school's travel club. We went over our Easter Break to France and Italy. We spend 10 days touring these two countries! -
Parents Split
My parents split up. -
Jaw Broken
I had my jaw surgically broken 6 days before Christmas. -
GRADUATION!
I graduated from Birch Hills School witha a 90% and above average. There were 30 people in my graduating class. -
University
I moved to Saskatoon (first time in living in the city), and started university at the University of Saskatchewan. I was enrolled in Arts and Science, as I was still trying to figure out what to do with my life. -
Car Accident
My 8 year old cousin, along with 4 other girls (ages 8-10) and one mother were killed in a car accident on their way home from a birthday party. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. -
University #2
I decided to go on a new adventure, and I got accepted into the Outtatown Program at the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg. This is a one year program, where the first semester we travelled Western Canada. The second semester we ventured over to South Africa, and I spent 3 glorious months (Jan-April) touring the entire country! -
University #3
I had a complete change of heart, and decided becoming a teacher was my life calling, and I got accepted into the University of Regina.
