The dust bowl was located in the central and northern plains. It lasted for 10 years. Top soil was blown across the whole country. -

Was an agency that provided emergency financing to banks, life insurance companies, railroads, and other large buisnesses. They gave $2 billion. -
The Bonus Army
There was about 43,000 marchers. 17,000 WWI Veterans and their family. They were led by Walter W. Waters. They demanded cash-payment of their services. -

Roosevelt was the 32nd president. He was the only president to serve 4 terms. He lead the U.S. in hard times, and in war. -
Social Security
After the great depression Social Security baecame popular. Roosevelt pushed for a social security system in which workers would contribute toward through taxes paid. -
Hitler takes power
President Hindenburg made Hitler the chancellor of Germany. Hitler and his Nazis set out to consolidate their power. -
The New Deal
This was a program designed to alleviate problems of the great depression. Roosevelt promised 3 goals, relief for the needy, economic recovery, and financial reform. -
Father Coughlin attacks FDR, Jews
He started a radio broadcast. At first, he supported Roosevelt. But, later he was against him and his New Deal. -
Indian Reorganization Act
This act was also known as the Wheeler-Howard Act. It terminated the Dawes Act. It gave the Native Americans rights that we took away from them. -
Neutrality Acts
This act helped keep the U.S. out of a possible European war. They did this by banning shipment of war materials to billigerents. They basically forbidded anything to do with billigerents. -
Social Security Act
This act established benefits for workers. It benefits victim of industrial accidents, unemployment insurance, the blind etc. -
GM Sit-down strike
This strike happened in Flint, Michigan and lasted 44 days. Wrokers just sat down at their jobs. They stayed there until a settlement was reached. -
Rape of Nanjing
Atleast 20,000 woman were raped. Japanese army attacked Nanjing from 3 different directions. Over 300,000 people were massacred. -
