Herbert Hoover was the 31st president of the United States of America, and easily won Republican votes. Many people had blamed Hoover for the Great Depression occuring. -

RFC stands for Reconstruction Finance Coporation. This was led by Herbert Hoover after WWI. This coorporation was made in order to assist banks, life insurance, companies, railroads, and many other large businesses who had financial issues. -

The Bonus Army invaded Washington D.C. in order to stop the veterans and their familys from protesting. This was said to be a parade for the veterans until the invaders had attacked. -

The Roman Catholic priest in Royal Oak Michigan, Father Charles Coughlin was supportive of president Roosevelt in the beginning. Later Father Coughlin disaproved after he founded the National Union for Social Justice. -

The Dust Bowl, otherwise known as the "black blizzards", changed lives for many. These were huge dust storms that took over cities, and lives. -

GM Sit-down Strike
The Sit-down strike occured in Flint Michigan. GM workers literally sat down on the job, this lasted 44 days. This gave UAW (United Auto Workers) an industrial union right to represent and organize employees. -
Rape of Nanjing
This is also known as the Nanjing Massacre. The event occured after the Japanese captured what was once the capital of the Republic of China Nanjing. Many Chineese people were killed and the Imperial Japaneese Army raped 20,000 to 80,000 women. -
The Grapes of Wrath
The Grapes of Wrath was a novel by John Steinbeckset, written during the Gread Depression. The story was based on a poor family who were forced to leave their home in Oklahoma because of the tradgity of the Dust Bowl. -
