    Herbert Hoover became the 31st President of the United States in 1929. Only 8 monthes after taking office did the Great Depression strike. Many people clamed him for the stock market to fall.

    Father Coughlin attacks FDR, Jews
    Father Coughlin was a strong headed Roman Catholic priest. He started off as a Roosevelt supporter, but soon began to be quiet harsh on him. Later he hinted towards planning an attack on Jewish bankers.

    In the summer of 1931, rain stopped coming, so the crops soon died leaving the land dry and dusty. When the winds picked up they blew sand all around causing major sand/ dust storms. To escape death by dust pneumonia, many people packed up and headed to California.
