Herbert Hoover takes office
Hoover takes office in 1929 as the 31st presidnet. 8 months after he was elected the stock markets dropped. -

The RFC was also known as the Reconstruction Finance Corperation. This was an agency that gave $2 billion in aid to state and local governments. It also made loans to banks, railroads, mortgage associations, and other businesses. -

The Rape of Nanjing, also known as Nanjing Massacre was a mass murder and rape during the six-week period. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians were murdered. They also raped 20,000-80,000 women. -

The Grapes of Wrath isa novel written by John Steinbeck. the novel was based on the Great Depression. It tells about a family of sharecroppers who live inOklahoma. They suffered from drought, and were caught in the Dust Bowl. They set out for California in hope of new jobs and land. -

There were many series of Neutrality Acts during the 1930s. They limited the United States' involvement in future wars after the response to what the US did during WWI.
