     South sucedes from the Union
    The South suceded from the Union because Abraham Linclon was elected as President. Linclon wanted to get rid of slavery but the south wanted slavery so the Suceded. South Carolina was the first state to suceded, then many more states followed there footsteps and formed the confederacey. The South Suceding was the reason for the Civil War.
  • Battle of Fort Sumter

    Battle of Fort Sumter
    This was the first battle of the Civial War. This battle ended just after 3 days because te Union bombarded th confederates forcing them to surrender. With this being the first battle of the civil war this battle was considered the start of the civil war.
  • The First Battle of Bull Run

    The First Battle of Bull Run was considerd to be the first major battle of the Civil war. The were mny cassulaties waith hundres killed and thousands wounded. The Confederates won te Battle of Bull run thanks to there leader Stonewall Jackson who counter attacked the Union catching them off guard.
  • Battle of Shiloh

    Battle of Shiloh
    The Battle of Shiloh was vory in the "Western Theater" of Tennesse. It was a short battle of 2 days but it was a very bloody one! About 3,500 were killed and around 16,000 were wounded in total of just 2 days. The battle ended in a Union Victory lead by Ulysses Grant.
  • Battle of Antietam

    te Battle of Anietam was the bloodiest one day battle in American history. Both sides suffered great number of casualties of troops. It was considered a Union Victory after the Confederates pulled out of the battle.
  • Emancipation Proclamation

     Emancipation Proclamation
    After the union won the Battle of Antietam, Linclon had the confidence he needed to write the Emancipation Proclamation. The proclamation gave freedom to 3 million slaves in designated areas in the south. It also made it possibile for escaped slaves to be become free.
  • Battle of Gettysburg

    Battle of Gettysburg
    The Battle of Gettysburg had the most casualities of any battle in the civil war. The battle was said to be the turning point of the war. The unin defeated the attacks by the Confederates lead by Robert E. Lee. the Unions victory ended Gen. Lee attempt to envade the North.
  • Battle of Atlanta

    Battle of Atlanta
    The Union defeated the Confederates in the battle of Atlanta. after they won the Union tried to end all railroad supplies from getting into Atlanta. This is where Sheerman started his tactic of total war.
  • The Siege at Petersburg

    The Siege at Petersburg
    The Siege was like Wolrd War 1 in that the siege was fought in trenches. The Union broke Gen. Lees Lines and was able to siege the confederate Capital, Richmond. This siege later forced the Confederates to surrender.
  • Surrender at Appomattox

    Surrender at Appomattox
    After the Conferderates lost at Petersburg, They retreated westward with the Union army chasing after them. Th Confederates had no where to run and so Gen. Lee surrendered. Lee Surrendered to the union at the Appomattox Courthouse.
