    The Second Continetnal Congress ended the slave trade in the 13 conolnies. This led to the Civil War.

    The Three-Fifths Compromise was s compromise proposed by james madison.This outlined the process for states to count slaves as part of the population in order to determine representation and taxation for the federal government. The South wanted the slaves to be counted towards the population but not taxed on them because they considered them property. The North did not want them counted towards the population because it would take away their representation. this led to the Civil War.
