    Coral Way Elementary school in Miami, FL opens as the nations first bilingual and bicultural education system, teaching both english and spanish. This was done in order to accomodate for the growing population of hispanics after the Cuban Revolution. This school paved the way for education that was focused on incorporating the different cultural backgrounds of students in an American system.

Some thought that by killing him it would slow down the movemtn but it only strengthened the bond of those within the movement as well as bringing more involvement and conversations on Civil Rights.
