    The main shock had a moment magnitude of 7.7 and a maximum intensity of VII (Very strong). At least 825 people were killed and hundreds more were injured. The location of the quake landed in a western part of Pakistan in a remote area.
  • Hurricane Harvey 2017

    Hurricane Harvey hit Texas in mid August of 2017 and subsided in the second day of September. In total, there was over $125 billion in damages. The affected areas were Texas, Louisiana, Honduras, Belize, and Nicaragua.
  • Kilauea Volcanic Eruption 2018

    The 2018 lower Puna eruption was a volcanic event on the island of Hawaii, on Kilauea volcano's East Rift Zone that began on May 3, 2018. The ongoing Kilauea eruption spawned a tiny addition to the Hawaiian island chain. This eruption destroyed hundreds of Hawaiian homes in an outburst.

    This is one of many deadly fires that occurred in late 2018. 250,000 acres of land were burned away at the end of "wildfire season". Over 2,000 people lost their homes including celebrity Miley Cyrus. Several were separated from their families while being left homeless in shelters.
  • Sunda Strait Tsunami 2018

    Sunda Strait Tsunami 2018
    On 22 December 2018, a tsunami that followed an eruption and partial collapse of the Anak Krakatau volcano in the Sunda Strait struck several coastal regions of Banten in Java and Lampung in Sumatra, Indonesia. At least 437 people were killed and 14,059 were injured.
