  • French and Indian war

    French and Indian war
    The war came about due to land and who it belonged to. The colonists reacted greatly to the war as they were able to gain France as an ally.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Changed the tax on imports from the Caribbean from 6 cents per gallon to 3 cents. Colonists protested against the sugar act.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    All printed material had to carry a stamp. Colonists were angry and protested against the stamp act.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The stamp act was repealed. Colonists were celebrating as this victory is what they had been fighting for.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Taxed goods imported to the american colonists. Colonists were angry and made the phrase 'no taxation without representation.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    Tax exemptions and rebates on tea coming in from the British East India Co.Colonists were angry because they believed the act was a bribe.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    America fought against Great Britain for independence. Colonists began to boycott and not buy goods provided by Britain.
