    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The war provided Great Britain enormous territorial gains in North America, but disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent, and ultimately to the American Revolution.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act of 1764 extended the molasses act by changing the taxes from 6 cents to 3 cents although it was a decrease in the tax price they are now actually enforcing the taxes and checking for smuggling. The Act gave British courts to try colonial smugglers which then took away the power from colonial court. American colonists responded to the Sugar Act with protest.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act of 1765 declared that all printed material has to have a stamp on it which was not free and you had to purchase it. This made the workers who use paper for their work very angry and it resulted in the Stamp Act Congress which was the boycott of British goods. The violent protests resulted in the British taking away the act
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory Act of 1766 passed by Parliament on the same day the Stamp Act was repealed, stated that Parliament could make laws binding the American colonies "in all cases whatsoever." It set the rule that colonists have barley any control and they can get taxed no matter what. The colonists were angry because they were loosing control and their opinions and say in things.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act of 1767 was created to ad taxes on goods and to help stop from people smuggling goods in without paying taxes on them. With this act it made some people angry which resulted in people boycotting again and boycotting British goods but it also made some people happy because they would make money off people bring in goods.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act of 1773 offered tax exemptions and rebates for tea coming from the British East India Company and then they left the cheap tea for the colonies which also then lowered the price of tea. 1773 the Boston Tea Party occurred, British dressed as Indians and dumped 4 million dollars with of tea into the Boston river. The colonists were angry that they were given the cheap tea, in that time tea was a very special thing and very important sho them getting cheap tea angered them a lot.

    The American Revolution was an epic political and military struggle waged between 1775 and 1783 when 13 of Britain's North American colonies rejected its imperial rule. The protest began in opposition to taxes levied without colonial representation by the British monarchy and Parliament.
