  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    Started 1754 until 1763.
    Throughout the war the main thing they were wanting to gain was land and places to settle. The colonists hated the war because it left the land damaged leading them to clean it up.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Most colonies were not thrilled with the Sugar Act because it taxed goods that most of them used. Therefore they needed more money to buy essentials. This lead to protest by the colonists and they fought to keep taxes off their most profitable trade/daily usages things like sugar.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was made to help forge in troops stays while they are fighting the war. Due to this colonists had to pay more taxes which led them to be frustrated and ultimately they stood up for themselves by simply not paying the taxes.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act was seen as bad among colonists while the British loved it. The British parliament gained power to make laws and to be the main power house. The colonists didn’t like this because although the stamp act already been appealed this was something that led into the bad direction and now they had to fight to protect themselves again.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    The Townshed Act was another way to tax goods coming into the colonies. The British Parliament set this up and they did so by using their power to their personal advantage. While colonists had no power in parliament and they were being taxed without any way to speak up or protect themselves.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act gave British Parliament ultimate control on tea products as well was exports and imports. The colonist saw this as they were again missing their power to gain their needs. Others thought they wanted to get support about what things the British wanted to tax.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    This war started when colonists were tried of being treated poorly and not having enough power and representation. The colonies all joined together and stopped following the taxes. They stood their ground to gain power.
